An episode for Empathy Museum's 1981 Uprisings podcast, featuring Bristol Poet and Educator Dr Lawrence Hoo, as he reflects on his childhood experience of the St Paul's Race Riots.

The Empathy Museum is a series of art installations begun in 2015, invitiing participants to quite literally 'walk a mile in my shoes'.

Its purpose is to help visitors view the world through the perspectives of others, putting on a pair of shoes and listening to the owners story through headphones.

Exhibition themes have included the experiences of NHS nurses, refugees and migrants, the 1981 uprisings and more.

A weekly podcast, A Mile in My Shoes, was started in 2018.
